Morris Motley Treatment Styling Balm Review (English)

Last weekend I have an interesting Mail Call from my dear friend Steven A. He was on business trip to Melbourne, a city that's super close to my heart. And the best thing is he got something special for me as he visited Morris Motley HQ. Let me present to you guys Morris Motley Treatment Styling Balm #frommelbournewithlove.

And the best part is, I have a little note inside the box written by Rob Mason himself and I feel so glad, as I'm a big fans of his product especially Morris Motley Pomade (Memorable Moment with this) that has been discontinued. So big thanks to Steven A. and Rob!

Alright let's start the review...

Scent: This balm have a soft fruity scent with a hint of lemon IMHO. It is not sweet but very refreshing scent that has quiet good longevity. I love it.

Texture: The texture of this balm is pasty and quiet close to clay pomade. It is very easy to scoop out of the plastic jar and very easy to smear it in your hand although usually matte paste is not that easy to smear.

I decided to do the review in two days with two different way of applying and styling the product.

Day 1:

Application: Today I decided to apply it on dry hair as how it is directed in the jar. I applied around 3 scoops of this balm. Application wise is very easy and I decided to do a finger combing with this balm today. The amazing part of this product is that although it is pasty matte but yet very easy to work with and as I finger comb it, there is no tug and pull at all. It is dry but in a good way. This styling balm can help you to create texture. It makes my hair look thick in a good way (since i have a super fine thin hair). Another best part of this balm is, it feels WEIGHTLESS, as if you don't apply any styling product in your hair.

Performance: I started my day at around 6;30 AM and doing my activities mostly indoor. My hair didn't move much until lunch break. So I decided to play around with it and I feel so glad that I play around with it as the volume of my hair is getting better and better as I run my finger. This balm will not dry out completely but it has that matte feel as it is described, so you can finger comb it as much as you like to create higher volume as it has medium firm hold.

I finish off my day around 9 PM with my hair still in great shape. So I run to the shower, and rinse my hair with water. This balm almost completely washes out with water ONLY. This is great and my hair feels soft. So I shampoo it anyway and after I get off the shower. My hair feels so smooth and nice. I love it.

Day 2:

Application: Today I decided to go opposite way and apply this balm on wet hair. As you apply it, the balm started to lose its hold as I expected. I applied 4 scoops today as I needed more to make sure it strength can last whole day and I have to run some errand outdoor. I style it with a big tooth comb and yet it look so slick and loose (in a good way).

Performance: I started my day late around 10 AM (weekend) and straight with outdoor activity. The balm reacted goodly under the sun. I did my activity outdoor till around 1 PM. It didn't dry up however, it started to loose its hold (expected). I re-comb my hair once I hit the shopping mall and the re-styling is easy and I can get that loose slick feel again. This balm however started to dry up once in the cool air-conditioned area BUT it doesn't dry up your hair till crisped.

I finish off my day around 11 PM. Hit the shower and again I can get that very soft fluffy feel after I washes it out. Amazing!

Overall: I really love this Balm and I mean it, I can either go messy look or slick look with this balm. It is also have a weightless feel in your hair and once it washes out, it will make your hair become soft and fluffy, IT FEELS GOOD. Great Balm Rob! I can see myself using this frequently.
